The Settings section in LocalZen is the place where you can customize the platform's operation to your needs, ensure data security, and manage key integrations (e.g., with Google Business Profile or Apple Maps).

Below is a detailed overview of the available options and tips on how to best utilize them.

Your Company

This section is used to enter and edit your company data, such as account name or billing information. This information is visible only to account users.

Monitored Keywords

Enter the keywords for which you want to monitor the position of your business listings. Phrases added here will be monitored across all listings on the account. You do not need to add the city or district name, as monitoring takes place in the location where the listing is situated.

Note: Deleting a keyword will delete all data collected so far. Therefore, before deleting it, download the position data for that phrase from LocalZen via the Monitoring positions in Google Maps -> Position - all listings tab.

Competitor Listings

Here you can search for and add the listings of local competitors. Competitors are added individually for each of your locations, allowing you to accurately monitor the competition in a given area. To add competitors, type their names into the search engine or use the suggestions provided by the LocalZen system.

Entering a distance in the "Radius" field allows you to narrow search results to local competitors.

👉 Pro tip: Add about 3–5 of the closest competitors for each location – this is a sufficient base for solid analysis.

Google Accounts

To use the full capabilities of LocalZen, it is essential to add a Google Business Profile account and import your listings. Without a connected Google account, you cannot use the system. You can connect multiple Google Business Profile accounts to LocalZen.

How to add a Google account

  1. Ensure the Google account you want to connect has access to the listings you intend to import.

  2. Click the "Add account" button in the top right corner of the screen.

  3. Follow the displayed windows. In one of the steps, you will need to grant permissions to edit listings; check the appropriate box and proceed until the account is added to the system.

Import of Listings

After connecting a Google account, you can import your listings:

  1. Select the profile on the Google account from which you want to import listings.

  2. Select all listings or check only those you want to import, then click "Import selected."

  3. Wait a moment for the system to refresh the page and start the import process. The import may take from a few seconds to a few minutes, and its status will be visible in real-time.

  4. If new listings appear on your Google account, you will need to import them. Simply select the profile containing the new listings and import them, or add a new profile by clicking "Add profile."

Configuration of other mapping systems

LocalZen can also be integrated with other mapping systems, such as Bing Maps or Apple Maps. Follow the specific steps described below for integration.

Bing Maps

Integration with Bing Maps allows for the automatic transfer of your listing data to Bing Maps, increasing your online visibility.

LocalZen sends basic administrative data to Bing Maps, such as: listing name, address, phone number, website, and opening hours. It also ensures the listing's presence on the maps. If a listing does not yet exist in Bing Maps, the system will automatically create it based on the information available in LocalZen.

To enable integration, go to the Settings -> Map Configuration tab and click "Enable" next to Bing Maps.

The first data synchronization may take up to 21 days as Bing verifies the submitted information. Once verification is complete, subsequent updates will occur in real-time.

Apple Maps

Integration with Apple Maps allows your listings to automatically appear in this mapping system, increasing visibility on Apple devices and in web browsers.

LocalZen sends basic administrative data (name, address, phone number, website, opening hours) and ensures map presence. If the listing doesn't exist, it will be created automatically.

To manage listings in Apple Maps, an Apple Business Connect account is required. This is a free account. Before integrating with LocalZen, you must set up and verify an Apple Business Connect account.

Key steps:

  1. Preparation: Gmail and Apple ID

  2. Logging into Apple Business Connect

  3. Completing company data

  4. Account verification

  5. Integration with LocalZen

Step 1: Preparation

Create a dedicated Gmail account (Recommended): We recommend creating a separate Gmail account used exclusively for Apple Business Connect. Apple sends email notifications every time a listing is created or updated. For many locations, this can generate hundreds of messages.

Create an Apple ID: An Apple ID is required to log into Apple Business Connect. You will need a phone number for two-step verification.

Step 2: Logging into Apple Business Connect

  1. Go to the Apple Business Connect page.

  2. Log in using your new Apple ID.

  3. Accept the terms and proceed to company account configuration.

Step 3: Company Verification -> extended tutorial available here

You have 14 days to verify your company. If necessary, you can send the verification task to another person in your company.

  1. Decide whom you want to verify your company.

    • If you want a coworker to verify, select “Contact a Coworker to Verify,” enter their email address, then select Send.

Important: If you’re sending the verification task to another person, make sure that any filters allow mail from all apple.com domains.

    • If you want to handle the verification yourself, continue this task.

  2. Select your government ID type, then add that information.

This information is used for a one-time verification and isn’t stored on Apple servers. For more information on government ID types, see Government ID types accepted.

  3. Verify your company through one of the following methods:

    • Document Review: Upload documents such as a business license or utility bill that shows this company’s name and address.

    • Domain Validation: See Verify your domain.

    • App Store Connect (Not available to Third-Party Partners or agencies): Select the app associated with your company.

  4. Select Send to send your information to Apple for verification. The verification process can take up to 5 business days.

  5. Do one of the following:

    • If you’re a Third-Party Partner or agency or if you don’t want to add your brand at this time, select Done.

    • If you want to add a brand now, see Add your brand.

Step 4: Integration with LocalZen

  1. Log into LocalZen.

  2. Go to Settings → Apple Accounts.

  3. Click "Sign in with Apple."

  4. Select the correct enterprise and confirm the connection.

  5. LocalZen will automatically create or take over listings in Apple Maps.
