You may need to remove a Business Profile from Google Maps if your business has closed, moved to a new location, or someone created the profile by mistake.

Google does not provide a simple “Delete” button, but you can take several steps to hide an outdated location and increase the chances of Google eventually removing it from Maps.

1. Mark the Business Profile as permanently closed

In LocalZen, go to "Locations Management", click "Show details" next to the relevant location, look for "Opening and closing location", click the pencil icon next to it, and change the profile’s opening status to “Permanently closed". This lets users see directly in search results that the business has closed.

2. Remove all the information from the Business Profile

Remove the opening hours, website, photos, posts, attributes, and other information from the profile.

3. Disconnect the Business Profile from LocalZen

If you manage the Business Profile through LocalZen, disconnect it from the tool.

4. Remove access for other managers

Directly in Business Profile Manager, remove other users’ access to the Business Profile so that no one except you can edit it.

5. Move the Business Profile to a separate location (profile) group

In your Business Profile Manager, create a new group (for example, “Profiles Pending Removal”) and move the location into it. This separates the profile from the locations you actively manage.

6. Report the location as no longer existing from personal Google accounts

Sign in to a personal Google account and find the Business Profile you'd like to remove. We recommend searching directly for the business name and address.

Then select “Suggest an edit” → “Place doesn’t exist” and submit the report.

You can also ask your colleagues and friends to do the same. More reports may increase the chances that Google’s systems will recognize the location as no longer existing and remove it from Maps.

7. Limit interactions with the Business Profile

Avoid searching for, viewing, or opening the Business Profile. These actions can signal to Google’s systems that the location remains relevant, which may delay its removal.

⏳ Once you complete these steps, you will need to wait for Google to remove the Business Profile from Maps. Unfortunately, this process can take up to two years.
